Nicholas White is a photographer based in South West England. He studied photography at Plymouth College of Art. His clients include The Financial Times Weekend Magazine, The Independent & Evening Standard, The Times and Telegraph Magazine. In 2017 Nicholas was named as a winner in the Lens Culture Emerging Talent Awards and was awarded The Royal Photographic Society Environmental Bursary. In 2018, Nicholas’ work was included in the British Journal of Photography Portrait of Britain Award and named as Judges Choice in Landscape Photographer of the Year.
Nicholas will be giving a lecture at PCA on the 29th November.

Used his holidays whilst working full time to get his own work done. Hubs of communities forming just for one night. Mountain bothies.
Made a diary of his shots using a digital camera, manage to gain recognition without showing his actual images.

Landscapes but also photographed the interior of the bothies. Photographed the community to get the sense of the lifestyle. People were interested in the camera.
Spent a lot of time writing in his diary.
Promotion
Rab - clothing, sparked a relationship with the company, they would send clothing for him to wear in exchange for photos. They then would post articles on their website. This is where he started getting attention from magazines. BJP, did not win the competition but one of the editors decided to run a seperate story on him. He then produced a book for the project which sold out in only a few weeks. Film with Ryan golf.
