Ethics in photographic practice is something I try to keep up to date on, whether it be in articles, on the news. Within my practice I want to be as ethical as I possibly can, but being a photographer can I be completely ethical?
This is a simple checklist provided by the college I can look over to see straight away the ethical implications of my work.

At the moment this is a crucial question to ask myself, my current project for my
Manifesto brief includes aspects that in instances could easily have ethical ramifications.
However having access to checklists such as these helps me define where and where I cannot go within my work and how I explore topics in the future.
I am currently investigating feminism through generations of my family.
For this project I really need to consider my ethical deliverables, questions I can ask myself before undertaking my project would be:
Does the research have the potential to offend
people?
Unfortunately with my work being based on personal opinions I would have to answer yes. The way I am trying to portray my work is to show it from the views of people who have experienced certain events in their lives that relate to my topic. I believe I have the opportunity to convey messages from others, especially within my family justly and true to their word.
Does the work involve sensitive topics?
Yes, however if handled correctly I can show my work without breaking any ethical values.
Does the research involve access to records of personal or confidential information concerning identifiable individuals?
Yes, again however I will be very careful with how I am portraying my subject and their opinions. I have consent from said individuals to share their images and interviews I conducted. Furthermore if at any point myself or anyone be it a viewer of my work or a
participant were to feel there were anything unethical about my work, I would amend accordingly and remove if desired.
