Visual Artist research Melovemealot

As part of my research into editing, I looked into the work of "melovemealot" an instagram artist that I have been following for a while. She is well known for creating extremely weird images and videos manipulating images of herself.

In most of her pictures she creates an uneasy super realistic horror style masks. I particularly like her work as I feel she is creating an alternate persona by using her own face as a mask.

It was only last year that she turned her body into her primary medium. “I thought it was a great way to make as many people as uncomfortable as possible,” she says. “I feel nowadays, no one pays much attention to real art, they skim by it in their feeds. But when you scroll by one of my videos, it’s difficult to look away.”
