Located under the student information section of Plymouth College of Art’s website is the Careers toolkit a really essential tool for any student. Especially important as a third year student.
I believe that this toolkit is extremely valuable throughout my three year studies, and especially for my final year of study when I really begin to develop who I want to be and what type of artist I want to be and how I handle myself in a professional manner.
Having worked full time in the past I can vouch for how helpful this toolkit is and how much easier it is to navigate and have the opportunity to access jobs whilst studying at the same time. Not that but also the wide variety of tools and help that is available online and access to people who are extremely willing to help within the university.
Within the toolkit there are access to specific links such as, employability tools,
industry links, useful videos, library resources and enterprise tools. All of which have more specific subcategories such as, a five year plan, introduction to crowdfunding, lynda.com plus many more.
For me the most useful tools are the five year plan, skills audit and the student career guide.
One of the most valuable assets is the job wall where information about work, placement and volunteer work in the art industry is posted.
